Bullying Prevention
Committee
In response to the bullying survey completed last year, the school is
forming a Bullying Prevention Committee. Any students or parents
interested in joining the committee and having their voice heard on
this important issue please contact the guidance counsellor, Mrs.

ATTENDANCE
Please be reminded that as per the school code of conduct,
participation in extra curricular activities is dependent upon regular
attendance at school.NOTE: Senior Prom is an extra curricular activity. ** Students must maintain an attendance rate of 90% A review of individual student attendance rates will be completed early in the new year. Parents and students will be notified of any concerns so corrective action can be immediately implemented. If you require clarification on the above, please the office at your convenience. |

Upcoming Counselling
Programs
1. Grade 9 Presentations (October 24th) - Perry Woodward will be offering Grade 9 students a workshop designed to bring awareness of the importance of course selections (I.E. the impact of choosing courses on entrance into post-secondary programs after graduation from high school). 2. P.A.R.T.Y. Program (November 1st & 8th) - To coincide with Addictions Awareness Week (November 14th-20th) the RCMP and Public Health will be offering the P.A.R.T.Y. Program (Prevent Alcohol and Risk-Related Trauma in Youth) to Grade 10 students. 3. Peer Mentoring Program (November 10th) - Kim Kendell and Ms. Hovey will be offering a 14-week Training Peer Helpers Program at PCH starting November 10th. 4. Career Wall - Starting this month there will be a Career Wall posted outside the guidance office. Each month Ms. Hovey will be highlighting a different career and students interested in that particular career will research the information and create the display. As a reward, students will earn hours for Career Dev 2201 and Ms. Hovey will also draw for prizes at the end of the year. October's theme is careers involving animal health (E.g. veterinarian) to coincide with Animal Health Week (October 2-8). |
